Frequently asked questions

How long must I have lived in Spain?

The general rule is ten years. The Civil Code provides reduced periods of five, two or one year in specific circumstances. Residence must be lawful, continuous and immediately before the application; we assess the applicable period and evidence.

Does marriage to a Spanish citizen automatically grant citizenship?

No. A reduced residence period applies subject to Article 22 of the Civil Code, including conditions concerning the length of marriage and absence of separation. An application and the other requirements remain necessary.

Do I need CCSE and DELE?

It depends on your circumstances. We check the required tests and possible exemptions or waivers before registration or filing.

Can you help with an application already submitted?

Yes. We can review the filing receipt, current status and notifications to agree specific assistance. An existing application should be assessed before submitting another.

When will I obtain citizenship?

We cannot set an approval date. Processing and any complications depend on the authorities and the individual application. We explain the follow-up and steps we can undertake.

Can I use your services from another province?

We can consult online and prepare electronic filing where available. We explain any steps you must attend in person.

Clear services and fees

Before starting, we agree the scope of the work and our fees. We explain any applicable administrative fees, translations or other separate expenses.
